Day 72, 03/12/2012 My daughter’s art work in the window caught my eye.
hanging hearts.
I’ve been asked a couple questions about my giant squid body pillow, so here are a couple answers:
How did I make him? I drew these two pattern pieces, and the rest (like the tentacles) I cut freehand. His tentacles are stuffed with a polyester fiberfill and his body is stuffed with four king size pillows. He’s huge.
Am I selling him or any of his kind? The short answer: no. This project took a fair amount of time (particularly stuffing all those legs), and when you factor in the material cost, I couldn’t price them for what you guys would want to spend.
However I do think it would be really fun to teach others how to make their very own squid-friend. If you would be interested in taking such a class and are in the SF Bay area, shoot me a message here or here.
Edit: As requested, I will also be making copies of the pattern. If you are interested in one, drop me a line and I’ll let you know when they’re ready.

Week One of my contribution to the Snail Mail My Email project.
Last weekend I finally got to play around with my new GoPro camera and then learn how to edit the footage. This video isn’t awesome, but I think it’s the start of big things to come. Plus I’m LOVING this song.

I finally finished crocheting my circle cowl hood scarf! <3
